I paint my own cars,,a kid down the street where I live brought me his solid wood electric guitar to paint for him..he also brought me the paint he bought over the internet a nitro laquer and clear coat...I had to reduce the paint and add hardner to the clear coat, just like I would painting a car,,(used my HVLP) I sprayed 4 coats of the base,,and several hours later sprayed 6 coats of clear coat,,he had removed al the hardware and I clear coated the back of the neck and the headstock..I let it sit for 24 hours and called him to come pick it up..his dad came with the money to pay me and he was amazed how good the paint job came out..so was I..never have painted a guitar before..not hard at all..
